This afternoon, while re-arranging the attic, I've noticed something.
I kept two boxes from washing powder for a decade. Why?
Because I use them every single day.
Easy, cheap, cheerful. Good.
One is for paper - the one with the binliner is for waste. And they will stay another decade I think ;-)

Fibre need......
As much as I love building projects, for now I have enough. So the craftroom will stay a while as it came together yesterday evening at 10 pm.
I'm really happy with all the space to start new things - even though I still need to paint quite a bit.
Yesterday my CSM arrived - a longlived dream fulfilled ;-)
off to play now!

Fair warning
I have to warn you. Even though these louvre- doors look out of place here now,
I cannot recommend you getting the idea to paint them.
Ten solid hours painting further, with blisters on my hands they look like this:
Getting the primer into all these nooks and crannies......I should have known better!

This chaos....
.....means:
I've painted the other side of the attic!
Next stop:
Built in closet to paint,
windowframe to paint,
Ceilinglight to find.
Maybe I splash out and actually buy something for the attic - a lightfitting that fits the room. Everything else is a collection of hand-me-downs. I've actually bought nothing of the furniture that's up there. Not even the loom. I just paid close attention on freecycle and other opportunities.
I have to admit though - it took a while to collect ;-) Now all of it get's a third life!

With a little help from everybody...
..the finish line becomes visible.
Under his watchful eye I've finished the craftroom.
When I came back from a break - the helpers we're waiting.
This was the last wall to be finished!
the window:
and the wall between the rooms.
Every corner is now sealed with acrylic sealant, all wholes are filled and sanded.
The biggest help today: HARRY!
He is the master of wallpaper!
Tomorrow or this evening (maybe, just maybe) I will finish the ceilings, and then I can paint the whole lot and put the furniture back.
I'm finishing two year old WIP's at the moment, because everything else is hidden away ;-)

Craftroom progress
If all goes well tomorrow - I only have a few hours though - we can wallpaper on sunday.
I'm really at the end of my patience and strength, I don't really like going up there at the moment. The repairing of the wall is what takes the longest time. Removing old wallpaper - blech! Hours, I tell you!
But it has to be done - otherwise we'll never finish......

Stubborn enough to succeed!
The sweet sound of a working washing machine!
In a mad race I've finished the utility room side on which the machines function.
- Put up the remaining plasterboards
- Filled the screw holes and seams with plasterboarfiller
- Filled corners with elastic acrylic sealant
- sanded down the filler
- put corner - tape on the dormer - house - connection
- removed old wallpaper
When Harry came home - he put up the wallpaper.
We moved the washing machine - connected it - and now it's running.
Tomorrow I'll have to go out for a few hours, not sure what I'm gonna do in the evening.
Yep - it hurts - but I'm actually having fun!

Craving to use the washing machine...
is was drives me forward by now.
The utility room could be ready for wallpaper this afternoon. Cross your fingers!
Harry is the best when it comes to wallpapering, and he has 3 hours in between tasks this afternoon...
I will start with filling, then I will remove the wallpaper and or fit plasterboard. It took me more than an hour to remove the wallpaper from the half wall yesterday :( Who knew that repairing would take more time than building?
The craft room follows along - but is not half as urgent by now ;-)

Langsam ernährt sich das Eichhörnchen......
Which means so much as - all things take their time.
(the squirrel feeds very slowly)
With the help of my Harry we've drilled the holes for the ceiling lights last night - and put up a few plasterboards. It was sunday, so working after 11pm is not really an option.
Today I'm working with plasterboard again, this is the lunchtime - status:
Utility room:
Craft room:
Seeing that I'm not really built to do hard labour for a long time, I have to take care that I switch tasks very regulary.
I will now make a start with the filling of the screw - holes and the spaces between the boards.
I have already removed two misfired nails this morning - they were getting in the way now that we're "finishing" the room.
appearantly I not only shortened them, but made them blurry as well ;-)
